About Uintah, Utah
Uintah is the city located in Weber County with a 2010 population of 1,322. Despite being named as a town back in 2000, since then, the state law has classified it as a 5th class city. Years prior to the arrival of the first Anglo Europeans in Utah, the area of Uintah was a favorite spot for hunting and camping among the Native Americans traveling through Weber Canyon. Based on archeological work, Native Americans were present in the area as far back as 5,000 years. Uintah actually got its name from the Shoshone India’s Weber Ute Band that stayed in the area during the period of white settlement.
